Our recent two‑day visit to the University of Oxford proved to be an unforgettable experience for a group of year 10 students, offering them a genuine insight into what it feels like to study at one of the world’s most prestigious universities. The trip was packed with academic exploration, cultural discovery, and moments that helped students realise that Oxford is not just a dream for “other people” — it is absolutely an option for them after college or sixth form.

Throughout the trip, students gained a deeper understanding of what university life at Oxford is really like — not just the academics, but the community, the traditions, and the sense of belonging. Pupils left feeling more confident, more ambitious, and more aware that top universities are well within their reach.

For some, the experience was genuinely life‑changing.

“It was inspiring to walk around the colleges and imagine myself as a student. I’m more motivated than ever to aim high.” Year 10 student comment

Mrs Askew, our Careers Adviser, was equally delighted with the impact of the visit:

“The enthusiasm and curiosity shown by our students throughout the visit made the trip a huge success. We are incredibly proud of how they represented the school and excited to see where this inspiration takes them next.”
