School Uniform Guidelines

Students are expected to wear the correct uniform and to maintain the highest possible standards regarding their individual presentation. Full uniform checks take place regularly. All items of uniform should be labelled.

Uniform Guide

We require our students to wear an academy uniform to establish identity, build belonging, and maintain high professional standards. Uniforms must be worn correctly in school, during travel, and on visits.

Essential Uniform Specification 

  •  Navy blazer with academy crest
  •  Academy jumper or sleeveless jumper (optional)
  •  White long/short sleeved shirt
  •  GCA Year 7-10 tie or Year 11 tie as appropriate
  •  Student lanyard and badge
  •  Medium grey straight-leg trousers or grey pleated knee-length skirt
  •  Plain black socks (no trainer socks) or plain black tights
  •  Flat plain black shoes 
  •  A suitable coat with no oversized logos
  •  Jewellery is not permitted with the exception of a wristwatch. No earrings are allowed due to safety reasons.


Skirt Length & Appearance Notes

Skirt lengths must fall just above the knee and fully cover the upper thigh when standing or sitting. Hair should be tidy and of natural colour (no extreme hairstyles or 0-1 cuts). Minimal natural make-up is allowed, but nail varnish, false nails, and false eyelashes are prohibited.
