This term, our Year 10 students have been actively engaged in a vital step towards their future, participating in a series of College Taster Days. These immersive experiences are a cornerstone of our school's careers programme, designed to provide students with first-hand insights as they prepare for their Year 11 applications.
The Taster Days offer an invaluable opportunity for our pupils to:
- Sample subjects that align with their interests, providing a taste of potential academic or vocational paths.
- Experience a typical college day, helping them to understand the rhythms and expectations of post-16 education.
- Explore the diverse facilities available at each institution, from specialist workshops to modern learning spaces.
We extend our sincere thanks to Preston College, Cardinal Newman College, and Blackpool Sixth for their incredible support in providing these enriching and highly beneficial opportunities for our students. Their collaboration is instrumental in helping our pupils make informed decisions about their next educational steps.
Looking ahead, our commitment to guiding Year 11 students through their post-GCSE choices continues. We will be hosting a series of dedicated assemblies featuring representatives from local colleges, sixth forms, employers, and training providers. This comprehensive approach ensures our pupils receive broad exposure to the diverse range of opportunities available to them, supporting them in making confident and well-considered decisions for their future.
