Our Year 10 students participated in a dynamic and highly beneficial "Mock Interview Careers Activity," designed to provide them with crucial insights into the professional world. We were thrilled to welcome representatives from a diverse range of organisations, including the NHS, Preston College, BAE Systems, Flotation Energy & Morecambe Offshore Wind Farm, Myerscough College, Lloyds Banking Group, Lanes Group, DWP, HSBC, Newman College, LMC, the Police, Schudio, Ultima Skills, and Harrison Drury Solicitors.

This engaging activity underscores our school's commitment to equipping students with practical skills and real-world experiences that will serve them well as they navigate their future academic and career paths. The opportunity to be interviewed by professionals from such a broad spectrum of industries offered our students invaluable first-hand exposure to different career landscapes and the expectations of potential employers.

Prior to the event, our students undertook preparation in their English classes, focusing on developing strong communication skills and mastering effective interview techniques. A dedicated assembly further supported their learning by providing essential guidance on how to prepare for and present themselves confidently in an interview setting.

The impact of the "Mock Interview Careers Activity" was clearly visible. While initial apprehension is understandable, our students emerged from their interviews with a tangible sense of accomplishment and increased self-assurance. The constructive and encouraging feedback they received from the interviewers fostered a strong sense of pride and significantly boosted their confidence. The positive energy among the students were evident throughout the remainder of the day.

One student shared, "I was quite nervous going in, but the interviewer was really encouraging and gave me some excellent advice on how to answer questions. I feel much better prepared for future interviews now."

A representative from one of the participating organisations commented, "The students were impressive – engaged, thoughtful, and eager to learn. This type of careers activity is incredibly valuable in helping young people develop essential professional skills."

This successful "Mock Interview Careers Activity" highlights the powerful impact of connecting education with the world of work. We extend our sincere gratitude to all the employers who generously dedicated their time and expertise to support our students. This experience has undoubtedly provided our Year 10 cohort with invaluable knowledge and a significant step forward in their journey towards future career success.
