Our Year 10 iMedia students recently welcomed local journalist Alice Jones for an insightful session connecting classroom learning with real-world careers.

Alice shared her day-to-day responsibilities, ranging from investigating breaking news to editing copy under tight deadlines, and discussed her personal pathway into the media industry.

A major focus of her visit was demonstrating how the exact skills students are building right now in their iMedia lessons translate directly into the workplace:

  • Research & Fact-Checking: Verifying sources and background information.

  • Digital Content Creation: Structuring and formatting media for online audiences.

  • Target Audience Analysis: Tailoring tone and style to engage specific demographics.

  • Time Management: Meeting strict publishing deadlines.

A huge thank you to Alice for inspiring our students and showing them how their classroom projects lay the foundation for future careers!
