GCA took 24 students from Years 7, 8 and 9 to the Cross Country Championships at Rossall.
Although the weather was miserable, the spirits were high - especially for the Year 7's taking part in their first experience of Cross Country. The boys managed to get within the top 50 runners and the girls ran amazingly well, scooping not only top 50 for some but 19th place and a fantastic 3rd place - taking home a bronze medal!
The year 8 and 9 students had the slightly harder task of running an extra kilometre with the girls running in the top 60, with one girl placing in top 20 and the boys all gaining places in the top 40.
Overall on a wet windy day, the students ran a great race and did the school and themselves proud - well done team GCA!
