Year 11 played four games and won all four in their District South group stages, which set up a Grand Final against the Winners of District North - Baines High School. Having lost against Baines for the last two years in the final, this was a great opportunity!
After a nervous start Garstang went 2-0 down after some errors let Baines strikers in. Garstang got one back but then Baines scored again, leaving it 3-1 going into the half time break. Garstang made some formational changes with 15 minutes to go and it paid off with 2 goals in quick succession.
At 3-3 the game went into penalties. Garstang missed their first two shots but goal keeper Joe Nayler kept garstang in with a couple of fine saves. GCA went on to win the shootout and took the title in dramatic fashion.
