This regional competition was open to year 9 students with an interest, passion and a flair for catering.  Working in teams of two, students completed an application form outlining their ideas for a healthy chicken dish. All entries were then short-listed by Chef Nigel Haworth. Four of the entries submitted by teams at Garstang Community Academy were successful in getting through to the regional heats.

On Thursday 21 st March these four teams took part in a masterclass and careers workshop at LMC. Students were taught how to butcher a chicken by the head chef and in the afternoon were given the opportunity to practice a chicken dish using a selection of fresh ingredients.
